Agreed hand contact between the instructor and the participant during the dive in the dive pit01 / 03SSI recommends 16–32 hours and requires at least four training dives in open water. You complete theory and pool skills before those; the number of pool and theory sessions is adapted to the progress of learning. Completing the course includes the final Open Water Diver exam.
Instructor providing support to the diver underwater in the dive pit02 / 03Level 1, 2 or 3 expresses the support needed when diving, not the severity of the diagnosis. The instructor will determine it based on the skills demonstrated. Before entering the water, medical fitness and a doctor's approval must be addressed. The instructor will agree suitable support with you; the diagnosis itself does not determine the Classified level.
Joint movement of the diver and instructor underwater in the dive pit03 / 03Recommended 16–32 hours; individual schedule duration by agreement with the instructor
Pool or confined water; for the certification course, suitable open water as well. Access, changing, entry and exit, and any assistance from an accompanying person will be checked together before booking.
The instructor determines the level based on your skills and the help needed. These are not levels of disability. For each level, we state the minimum dive support.

No. They are levels of the support needed when diving. It is not the name of the diagnosis that matters, but the specific skills and support the diver needs.
In pool / confined water, no more than 5 m. The first two training dives in open water, no more than 12 m, the next dives, no more than 18 m. Marek KušiakOpen Water InstructorSSI Open Water Instructor #117682
Sidemount enthusiast. He tailors training to the experience and needs of his students.
He started diving in 2006 with IANTD and over the years took courses in many diving systems with many instructors. Time and gradually gained experience have shown that courses across all organisations are very similar and that, overall, the instructor’s approach matters more than the name of the system. This is what he tries to follow during teaching and he adapts courses as much as possible to the students.
After a shoulder injury, he left technical diving for a while before deciding to try sidemount. Since then, he has fallen in love with sidemount diving. He currently mainly teaches this form of diving, which opens up new and interesting possibilities for beginners as well as experienced divers.
Divers Direct regularly organises one-day and weekend Events and diving expeditions for members of its club. And you can continue with follow-on courses right at these events.
