A small creature, a big world.
Course SSI Nudibranch Ecology introduces the incredibly colourful world of sea slugs – nudibranchs. On the course, you will learn to identify them, understand their behaviour, their survival strategies and why they are such an important part of marine ecosystems.

There is a reason for the colours.
During the course you will learn where you are most likely to encounter them, how their defence mechanisms work and why they are among the most colourful creatures in the ocean. It also includes understanding their role in nature and their relationships with the surrounding environment.

Online study and a lecture with an instructor. The course ends with a theory test without a dive.

What
else are you interested in?
Is the course suitable for non-divers too?
Yes. The course is also intended for non-divers and does not require any prior diving or snorkelling experience.
Is there any diving in the course?
No, the course does not include practical dives. Everything takes place in the form of e-learning and theoretical teaching with an instructor.
Can it also be taken in English?
Yes! The study materials are also available in English. A consultation with an English-speaking instructor can also be arranged.
How long will the study materials be accessible to me?
Once activated, access remains yours permanently – you can return to it at any time.
How soon after payment can I start?
Usually within 1 working day we will activate your access and contact you to arrange the lesson.

Czech quarries, trips abroad and underwater photography. He is happy to share his experience and the joy of diving.
David had his first taste of diving in Egypt in 2017. In spring 2020 he tried the basic course, tried it and never let go. As soon as he completed one specialisation, he immediately carried on with the next. Diving captivated him so much, and got under his skin so deeply, that he continued his training and gathering experience. As he enjoys mentoring and leading people, professional courses are the obvious choice for him so that he can pass on his knowledge and share with others the joy of diving and the experiences connected with it.
You can meet David not only at the Czech quarries all year round at weekends, but also on adventures abroad. Recently he has become fascinated by underwater photography, so on almost every dive you will find him with a camera and two antennae – photo lights. At quarries he enjoys attractions and hunting them down. Abroad, wrecks and rich flora (he is constantly looking for Nemo :-D)

The course does not
end with us.
Divers Direct regularly organises one-day and weekend Events and diving expeditions for members of its club. And you can continue with follow-on courses right at these events.
