Instructor providing support to the diver underwater in the dive pit03 / 03Tempted by the world beneath the surface? We will start with a conversation about what you would like to experience and what kind of assistance feels comfortable for you. As you get to know the equipment and in the water, we will leave room for questions, rest and your own pace.
Agreement between the instructor and participant at the surface before the dive01 / 03Try Scuba Classified is our designation for the adapted Try Scuba experience for people with disabilities. It takes place in a pool or confined water, to a maximum depth of 5 metres; the instructor will determine the exact depth. It is an experience, not a qualification for independent diving.
Agreed hand contact between the instructor and the participant during the dive in the dive pit02 / 03First we will agree access to the water, communication and support. Before entering the water, medical fitness and a doctor’s consent need to be arranged. The instructor will agree suitable support with you; the diagnosis alone does not determine the Classified level. Our Try Scuba Classified programme is available from age 10; we assess suitability and the support needed in advance.
Instructor providing support to the diver underwater in the dive pit03 / 03Individually; SSI does not set a fixed duration duration by agreement with the instructor
Pool or confined water; for the certification course, suitable open water as well. Access, changing, entry and exit, and any assistance from an accompanying person will be checked together before booking.
The follow-on Classified Diving course has three levels based on the support needed, rather than the degree of disability. This overview shows the minimum accompanying team for certified divers. During Try Scuba you are under direct instructor supervision; we arrange the team and support individually. The taster does not award any of these qualifications.

Marek KušiakOpen Water InstructorSSI Open Water Instructor #117682
Sidemount enthusiast. He tailors training to the experience and needs of his students.
He started diving in 2006 with IANTD and over the years took courses in many diving systems with many instructors. Time and gradually gained experience have shown that courses across all organisations are very similar and that, overall, the instructor’s approach matters more than the name of the system. This is what he tries to follow during teaching and he adapts courses as much as possible to the students.
After a shoulder injury, he left technical diving for a while before deciding to try sidemount. Since then, he has fallen in love with sidemount diving. He currently mainly teaches this form of diving, which opens up new and interesting possibilities for beginners as well as experienced divers.
Divers Direct regularly organises one-day and weekend Events and diving expeditions for members of its club. And you can continue with follow-on courses right at these events.
