Your SSI OWD · Enlarge04 / 04The basic scuba diving course begins with understanding what happens underwater. You will complete the theory online, and with an instructor you will connect gear familiarisation with practical training.
Online preparation + instruction with an instructorEnlarge photoYou will learn breathing, movement and basic skills in the sheltered environment of the pool and the Aquapalace Čestlice dive pit. You will gradually build the confidence for the next step.
5–6 lessons · usually 1.5–2 hoursEnlarge photoYou will transfer the skills from the pool into open water. You can look forward to four training dives with an instructor and your first shared experiences underwater outdoors.
4 training dives in open waterEnlarge photoOnce you have completed the skills and the final theory test, you will receive the international SSI OWD certification. Adults may dive with an appropriate buddy to 18 metres in conditions corresponding to the training. For juniors, depth and supervision restrictions apply according to age.

No. OWD is also designed for complete beginners. Try scuba diving is a chance to get a feel for diving in advance.
No. Loan of the necessary equipment for pool lessons and open water is included in the course price.
The classic Open Water Diver is from 15 years of age. For children aged 10–14, we offer a separate Open Water Diver Junior; please arrange acceptance of a child aged 10–11 in advance with the school.
Standard and Premium are completed in the Czech Republic approximately from mid-June to the end of September, depending on the weather and water temperature. The Dry option allows year-round completion depending on conditions and capacity.
Yes. The school organises OWD completion in Croatia in spring and regular expeditions abroad with the option to complete your course. Please confirm the current event and costs with the school. Another option is Referral: theory and pool at home, open water later.
Yes. SSI OWD is an internationally recognised certification. Your study materials remain accessible to you after activation.
