PLACES THAT MAKE US SET OFF

    Dahab. Dive after dive.

About Dahab and life below the surface
    Evening promenade in Dahab

    DAHAB IN A NUTSHELL

Straight from the city into the sea.

Discover a diver’s paradise on the coast of the Sinai Peninsula. Dahab, originally a sleepy fishing village, has become one of the world’s best diving destinations. It offers a relaxed atmosphere, direct access to the sea and a wealth of sites to explore without the need for boat transfers.

Most of them are accessible on foot, by car or from the shore.

Coral reef and schools of fish in Dahab

    SMALL AND LARGE NEIGHBOURS

There is life below the surface here.

The marine life in Dahab is diverse and fascinating. You can look forward to extensive coral gardens, which create almost labyrinthine formations of hard and soft corals. You will encounter schools of colourful parrotfish, triggerfish, moray eels, lionfish, octopuses, turtles and larger pelagic fish such as barracuda, tuna or groupers.

Sites such as Lighthouse, Eel Garden, Islands or Canyon are among the very best that the Red Sea has to offer.

    BELLS & BLUE HOLE

    Blue you will never forget.

The best-known site is Blue Hole, a dramatic sinkhole over 90 metres deep, surrounded by rich coral growth. It is especially suitable for more experienced divers, but recreational dives around its perimeter are also well worth it.

Combined with the Bells site, it offers breathtaking scenery and the possibility of deep or technical dives.

    ABOVE THE SURFACE

    Relaxation even without a cylinder.

Dahab is the ideal choice not only for divers. Thanks to its pleasant climate, warm water (the offer states 24–28 °C; this is not a guarantee of December temperatures) and intimate atmosphere without mass tourism, it will also appeal to non-divers, families and travellers looking for a peaceful place for an active holiday.

In addition to diving, Dahab also offers plenty of opportunities for trips, relaxation and discovering the local culture.

Dahab offers unrivalled easy access to dozens of varied dive sites – from calm bays to dramatic walls and deep drop-offs. Everything is reachable from shore or by a short drive. It suits beginners, advanced divers and those focused on technical diving alike.

    SITE / 01

    Lighthouse Reef

An ideal training site right in the centre of Dahab.

It offers easy entry, calm conditions and surprisingly diverse marine life – coral fish, lionfish, triggerfish, groupers and octopus. The seabed slopes gently and reaches depths of over 30 m.

    SITE / 02

    Bells & Blue Hole

A famous twin site for more experienced divers.

The entrance “chimney” at Bells drops vertically to the bottom, from where you continue along the wall towards Blue Hole. The outer side there is covered with dense coral growth and offers a breathtaking scene. The maximum depth for a recreational dive is around 30 m; technical dives go much deeper.

    Canyon

A crack in the seabed that you can swim into from the open sea.

It offers interesting topography and often excellent visibility too. A popular site for advanced and mildly technical dives to depths of 30–40 m.

    SITE / 04

    Um Sid / The Caves

A combination of gently sloping seabed with cave overhangs and dramatic topography.

Varied marine life and lovely coral growth. Suitable even for less experienced divers.

    Snake eels at Eel Garden

    SITE / 05

    Eel Garden

A vast sandy plateau full of snake eels – delicate fish that poke out of the sand and, when disturbed, disappear back into their holes.

The site is calm, easy to navigate and ideal for photography as well as slow dives to 25 m.

    Among the corals at Islands

    SITE / 06

    Islands

The most photogenic site in Dahab.

The corals here create a colourful labyrinth full of narrow channels, sandy pools and rich marine life. In addition to parrotfish, barracuda and triggerfish, you will often spot Napoleon wrasse too. Depth to 17 m.

We choose specific locations and dives according to the weather, conditions and the group's qualifications. The stated depths describe the locations; they are not a dive plan for every participant.

    THE TASTE OF DAHAB

    Meals

Included in the trip price is breakfast at the dive base, which will set you up for the day ahead. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed right at the base, in one of the local restaurants at the dive sites, or you can head into the centre of Dahab.

Meal prices usually range between €6 and €8, depending on the location and type of cuisine. In the area you will also find cheaper street food or, conversely, more upscale venues with international cuisine.

Based on our experience, most participants will be fine with a budget of around 4,000 CZK per person for the whole stay.

BETWEEN THE SEA AND THE MOUNTAINS

Accommodation at Hotel El Salam (subject to availability)

We will be staying in a pleasant hotel in the centre of Dahab, within walking distance of the beach and 4 minutes from the dive centre. There is an ATM right in front of the hotel. The hotel offers an outdoor pool and a stylish coffee shop in Bedouin style.

The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a minibar and a private bathroom with a shower.

Guests have access to free Wi‑Fi in the common areas. The hotel also offers the option of taking part in yoga classes, ideal for recovery between dives.

TO FINISH, OFF TO THE DESERT

    The last evening.
    Fire, stars and desert.

At the end of the trip we regularly head into the desert on camels for a Bedouin dinner. After days underwater, the Sinai mountains, a shared get-together and an evening by the fire await us. Our favourite finish to Dahab.

Trip: Bedouin dinner in the mountains

Before sunset we set off into the mountains in Bedouin jeeps, where we transfer to camels; they carry us to a small pass where the campfire is already burning and the Bedouins are busily preparing our dinner. It is a pleasantly spent evening away from civilisation, with freshly baked bread being made in the mountains, chicken grilled over an open fire and a special Egyptian potato salad.

Bedouin tea and of course a hookah must not be missing. An optional, highly recommended experience that you definitely should not miss!

For divers, Ras Abu Gallum is interesting because the local reefs are practically untouched by mass tourism.

    Trips and experiences

    Color Canyon and White Canyon

    40 €

    More about the trip

This is a trip to two unique canyons with beautiful rock scenery and the authentic atmosphere of local Bedouin life. Color Canyon is a narrow canyon lined with sandstone walls that, thanks to the colouring of the rocks, display shades of red, orange, yellow, pink and purple.

This is followed by White Canyon, which offers a completely different spectacle – pale rock walls and white sand create an impressive contrast with the surrounding desert landscape.

    Horse riding to the lagoon

    45 € / person / 2 hours.

    Visit to the Oasis

    15 € / person.

    Mount Moses

    35 € / person, entrance fee 5 € / person. (Price is for 4 people or more)

    More about the trip

The trip to Mount Moses is one of the most striking experiences in Sinai. You will be waiting for a night ascent of the mountain, from where it is possible to watch a magnificent sunrise over the vast Sinai landscape. In good visibility, an impressive view opens up of the surrounding mountains and the desert, which gradually turns to warm shades in the first rays of the sun.

After the descent, there is a visit to St Catherine's Monastery, one of the most important historical sites in Sinai.

If interested, we can arrange a quad bike ride through the desert or other trips according to your wishes.
