    The journey of plastic through the ocean

    The oceans are full of life, but unfortunately also of plastic. Did you know that plastic waste can break down in the sea into microscopic particles, travel thousands of kilometres on ocean currents and enter the food chain? How much plastic actually ends up in the oceans, where does it come from, and what happens to it beneath the surface? And is there a way to genuinely reduce the amount of plastic waste in the oceans?

    Solutions and our role

    Come and take a closer look at the issue of ocean plastics, find out how they affect marine ecosystems and wildlife, discover the most interesting projects aimed at removing them as well as new ways to reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans. And above all, find out what each of us can do for healthier oceans.

    Vojta Suchý

    Vojta has a very close connection to the issue of plastics in the oceans – he collects waste during his dives and has long been dedicated to protecting the environment in which he dives. He regularly gives talks about his experiences and shows that even small actions by each diver can make a difference to the cleanliness of the oceans.

    Under the brick vault of our Dejvice club room, we gather over travel stories, photographs and a shared table.

    After the last slide, you do not have to hurry home. Stay for a chat, ask questions and share your own diving experiences.
