    Coral reefs are among the most beautiful and at the same time most threatened ecosystems on our planet. Did you know that coral is neither a plant nor a stone, but a living organism capable of building a vast underwater “city” full of life? Why are coral reefs so important, what threatens them most today, and is there still hope of saving them? Come and discover the fascinating world of corals, learn about the latest scientific discoveries and restoration projects, and find out how each of us can contribute to the protection of the oceans.

    Experiences from tropical seas

    The lecture will be guided by our instructor Adam Švancar, who will take you beneath the surface of tropical seas and show you the world of coral reefs through a diver’s eyes. He will share his travel experiences, photographs and stories from places where he has encountered these unique ecosystems first-hand.

    Adam Švancar

    Adam runs the Divers Direct diving school and, as an SSI Instructor Trainer, focuses on training divemasters and instructors. He looks after the quality of teaching and the development of the Divers Direct school. He lived and dived in Dahab, Egypt for two years, where he gained extensive experience of the local underwater world and, above all, the coral reefs. Thanks to this, he can share with you plenty of interesting facts about life beneath the surface.
